Premier League most shots

What the Numbers Show

E. Haaland leads the Premier League shot rankings with 102 total shots. That is a clear gap over the rest of the top 10 and shows how central he remains to Manchester City’s attacking structure.

The difference between Haaland and second-placed I. Thiago is 35 shots. That is significant because it shows that Haaland is not only scoring goals, but also producing the highest attacking volume in the league.

However, total shots do not tell the full story. Some players are highly efficient with fewer attempts, while others shoot often without converting at the same level.

That is why metrics like shots on target, shot accuracy and conversion rate are important when analysing attacking performance.

Shots on Target and Accuracy

Haaland also leads the top 10 in shots on target, with 59 efforts hitting the target. That means more than half of his attempts forced the goalkeeper to make a save or resulted in a goal.

Among the players in this ranking, I. Thiago stands out for accuracy. He has 43 shots on target from 67 total shots, giving him a shot accuracy of 64.2%.

O. Watkins is also very efficient, with 38 shots on target from 60 attempts and a shot accuracy of 63.3%.

At the other end, Evanilson has the lowest shot accuracy among the top 10. He recorded 22 shots on target from 57 total shots, giving him a 38.6% accuracy rate.

That suggests high attacking involvement, but lower shot quality or less efficient finishing compared with the other names on the list.

Conversion Rate: Who Is Finishing Best?

The most clinical player in this top 10 is I. Thiago. He scored 22 goals from 67 shots, giving him a conversion rate of 32.8%.

That is an excellent return and shows that Brentford’s forward has combined strong shot selection with efficient finishing.

O. Watkins also performs very well, scoring 16 goals from 60 shots with a conversion rate of 26.7%.

Haaland, despite taking far more shots than everyone else, still maintains a strong conversion rate of 26.5%. That combination of volume and efficiency is what makes him the standout attacking player in this ranking.

Jean-Philippe Mateta also deserves attention. He ranks 10th for total shots, but his 2.27 shots per 90 is one of the strongest rates in the table.

Why Shot Volume Matters for Predictions

Premier League most shots data

Shot volume is one of the most useful indicators in football prediction models.

A team with players who consistently generate shots is more likely to create chances, increase expected goals and put pressure on the opposition defence.

For match predictions, players with high shot volume can influence several markets:

  • 1X2 match outcome
  • Over 2.5 goals
  • Both Teams to Score
  • Player goalscorer probabilities
  • Team attacking strength
  • Expected goals trends

This is why GoalStatsLab does not look only at goals. A player may go one or two matches without scoring, but if his shot volume remains high, he can still be a strong candidate to score in upcoming fixtures.

The Premier League most shots table will be updated as more player match statistics become available.

He leads the table with 102 total shots, 59 shots on target and 27 goals. That combination makes him the strongest attacking profile in the dataset.

I. Thiago is the most efficient finisher among the top players, with a 32.8% conversion rate, while O. Watkins combines strong accuracy with consistent goal output.

For prediction analysis, the key lesson is simple: goals matter, but shot volume often shows which players are most likely to keep producing attacking returns.

GoalStatsLab will continue updating Premier League player stats as more match data becomes available.
